7 DESTRUCTIVE HABITS OF INCOMPETENT PEOPLE @TWEETORACLE

If  you want to live a meaningful and well fulfilled life, never engage yourself in this seven deadly habits that incompetent people do.

1. THEY THINK, SAY AND DO NEGATIVE THINGS: Yes. They see problems in every opportunity. They complain that the sun is too hot. They curse the rain for ruining their plans for the day. They blame the wind for ruining their hair. They think that everyone is against them. They see the problems but never the solutions. Every little bit of difficulty is exaggerated to the point of tragedy. They spread failures as catastrophes. They become discouraged easily rather than learning from their mistakes. They never seem to move forward because they are always afraid to come out of their comfort zones.

2. THEY TALK MUCH MORE THAN THEY LISTEN: They want to be the star of the show so they always engage in talks that would make them heroes even to the point of lying. Often times, they are not aware that what they are saying is not sensible anymore. When other people advice them, they close their ears because they are too proud to admit their mistakes. In their mind, they are always correct. They reject corrections because that will make them feel inferior.

3. THEY ACT BEFORE THEY THINK: They move based on instinct or impulse. If they see something that they like, they buy at once without any second thought. And when they see something better, they regret and curse for not been able to take advantage of the bargain and they spend again and again until nothing is left. They don’t think about the future. What they are after is the pleasure they’ll experience at present. They don’t think about the consequences. Those who engage in unsafe sex, criminality, and the likes are included in this group.

4. THEY GIVE UP EASILY: Successful people treats failure as stepping stones to success. Incompetent ones call it quit upon recognizing the first signs of failure. At first, they may be excited to start an endeavor but then they lose interest fairly quickly, especially when they encounter errors. Then they go in search for a new one. Same story and same results. Incompetents don’t have the persistence to go on and fulfill their dreams.

5. THEY TRY TO BRING OTHERS DOWN TO THEIR LEVEL: In competent people envy other successful individuals. Instead of working hard to be like them, these incompetent ones spread rumors and try every dirty trick to bring them down. They could have ask this successful ones nicely. But hell No! they are too proud. They don’t want to seek advice. Moreover, they are too negative to accomplish anything.

6. THEY WASTE THEIR TIME: They don’t know what to do next. They may just be contented on eating, getting drunk, watching TV, or worse still starring at the blank wall with no thoughts whatsoever to improve their lives. It’s perfectly fine to enjoy once in a while but time should be managed efficiently in order to succeed. There should be a proper balance between work and pleasure.

7. THEY TAKE THE EASY WAY OUT: If there are 2 roads to choose from, incompetent people would choose the wider road with less rewards than the narrower road with much better and greater rewards at the end. They don’t to experience any form of suffering or hardship. They want a good life and what these people don’t know is that what you sow is what you’ll reap. Efforts and actions will not go unnoticed. If only they would be willing to sacrifice a little, they would be much better off.

Successful people made it through trials and error. They never gave up. They are willing to do everything necessary to achieve what they aspire for in life.

How to Write a Standard Application Letter

job-application-letter-e1403363449301

Everyone who plans on entering the corporate world will have to write an application letter at some point. Letters are so important that school curriculums include it, even at the primary school level. Whether you’re applying for a job, a contract, a bank loan, your school statement of results or just asking permission to take a break, it is imperative that you know exactly how to go about it. With letter writing being taught at such a basic level in schools, it can be pretty embarrassing to get in a situation where you need to write one and don’t know how to go about it. There are no hard and fast rules to writing application letters and the make-up is often similar. The following steps will be sure to guide you on how to write one:

1. First foot, best foot: A letter of application is very likely the first correspondence you will have with the recipient of the letter. Often times, it will determine whether you will be granted audience or not. Bearing this in mind, it is necessary that you take time and care with your application. Make it presentable and ensure that it is clear, easy to read and not ambiguous in any way.

2. Mind your language: The tone of an application letter should be formal. Words and sentences should be kept on a very formal level. There is no room for slangs, vernacular, shortened words or the like. The conclusion should also be formal. Where the name of the addressee is not known, begin with “Dear sir/madam”. Ensure you go straight to the point, introduce yourself appropriately as well as the purpose of your letter and avoid any tale telling. The nature of your writing language will determine how seriously the application will be taken.

3. Mind your grammar: When writing an application letter, always check spellings and watch your grammar. Get someone to proof read it for any errors before you send it. Grammatical errors can very easily slip your notice and so it is preferable to read your letter at least twice after completion.

4.  Content positioning: This is also very important in application letter writing. Know where to put what. This is in terms of the date, salutation, heading, body and conclusion. Know what styles are in vogue and what is obsolete. All of these factors are important and should be carefully taken into consideration.

5. Presentation matters: A famous slogan says that “packaging is everything”. When sending an application letter, make sure it looks worthy of being read. In situations where it is expressly stated that you use your handwriting, it is often preferred that you type the document using standard typing guidelines. It is more legible and way neater that way, especially if you’re not gifted with pleasant handwriting. Also, put the letter and any other associated documents in an envelope before sending it.

Knowing how to write an application letter is an invaluable skill to have and you never know, it may come in handy when you least expect it so do yourself some good and practice writing one today

5 Ways You Can Grow Your Taxi Company’s Network

taxi

Growing a taxi business has its share of challenges just like growing any other business, but in it is the potential for success just as any other business when the key elements that will ensure success are observed. How do you make your taxi business a success story? We have 5 ideas.

1. Make your customers’ experience unique: The main purpose of running a taxi company is to move passengers from one place to another but it won’t grow if you focus on your target alone. Let each customer that your company moves from one place to another have an experience they will never forget. Don’t open the windows and leave your passengers at the mercy of strange odours. Offer them refreshing cold bottled water or have a bowl of sweets close at hand. They will come calling next time with friends and family.

2. Word of mouth: This is one of the oldest and the best ways taxi companies can market their business. When customers have been treated well, they can become loyal marketers who will recommend your taxi service to their family, friends and coworkers. Another way to boost this is to write a thank you note to loyal customers who refer people to you. You can also implement a reward system where you seasonally give gifts such as gift certificates for future rides, fun prizes and other useful items.

3. Get customer feedback: Allow customers who feel they have been treated poorly express their anger. It is advisable that taxi companies spend at least a day addressing customer’s complaints and get to know their thoughts and feelings about your taxi company. If there has been any dispute or negative feedback, address them. Getting customers’ feedback is important because through it, you will learn so much about your company and the different areas you can still improve on. Additionally, customers will appreciate that their views and thoughts are taken seriously.

4. Business cards: This is the easiest and the cheapest way to market your taxi company. Place your flyers and business cards in populated areas. This means placing them in areas where you know people might need to call for a taxi such as supermarkets, shopping malls, bars/restaurants, hotels and the airport. You can also hand out your business cards to each customer after you drop them at their destination. With your business card, they can easily reach you if they need you to pick them up again.

5. Online advertising: The online community has become a phenomenon some do not understand but it is the reality that has engulfed society. Taxi companies should therefore take advantage of websites where potential customers can call your company for a ride. For example, Connect Nigeria is Nigeria’s number 1 online search portal which lists businesses and companies. Putting your information on a platform such as this would make it easier for customers when they go looking to get a cab. Make sure your company is listed on the website to make it easy for potential customers to find you and call your company for a ride.

How to Create an Effective Study Plan

study-plan-e1403803782438

Everyone who wants to grow and develop in knowledge, academics and/or skills acquisition must study and effective study over a period of time will almost always require planning. Putting together a study plan is highly critical to success regardless of what you’re studying for. Several factors also come into play like your time settings, level of concentration, the period for which you can effectively focus and study, etc. Putting all these things and more into consideration, below are some tips on how to put together an effective study plan.

1. Determine the objectives and goals of the study: objectives are laid down rules that’ll guide you throughout your course and a definite goal keeps you in line with the purpose of your study. Creating an objective is just one of the basic rules of an effective study plan. After all it is said that if you don’t know where you’re going, you won’t know when you’ve arrived.

2. Map out a time chart of your current activities: This is very important because it helps you determine what times of the day you’re freest and when it’s convenient for you to study. Some days may be busier than others and you’ll have to consider all this while putting your study plan together.

3.  Draw up a schedule that fits into it: Now that you’ve mapped out a time chart of your current schedule, the next thing to do is draw up a study plan that fits well into your day- to-day activities. Make sure your study plan does not upset your current activities otherwise it could make sticking to your study difficult.

4.  Stay on course with your schedule: Staying on course with your schedule is all that matters. It means all forms of distraction and procrastination has to be eliminated. Discipline, timing, focus, concentration and perseverance are all that will keep you to the end of your study plan.

5. Give yourself a break: Even God almighty rested on the 7th day after creation. It’s just an indication that rest is significant. Having or taking a break helps replenish lost energy and helps the brain to better assimilate and process all information that will be taken in subsequently.

6. Get a partner: This doesn’t work for everyone so it could be optional. Some people prefer to study alone while others may like the idea of having someone to read and share with. It can be with a colleague, friend or a muse. Studying with a partner has a lot of advantages. It gives room for discussion, idea-sharing and correction in wrong areas. What’s more? It is said that when you go alone, you may go fast but with people, you go far.

Whether it’s an examination, professional test, religious goal or just for self development, a study plan is key in ensuring you succeed. When there is a viable plan on ground, achievement becomes easier and more feasible and this goes not only for studying but also for any venture worth going into

Tips for Picking a Password

password2-e1404141095418

A password is a word or set of characters used to authenticate user identity and access a resource. A computer user has passwords to log into accounts to retrieve emails, access databases, websites, apps and networks.

The usage of passwords dates back in time with words like ‘open sesame’, which has made its way into folklore and movies.

What is your password? Do you know that the strength of your password may increase or decrease your chances of being hacked?

Do you know that passwords usually have to be above 6 characters? The ideal password is 12 characters long because the harder it is, the more likely hackers won’t be able to come up with it.

Here are some tips for picking a password:

Use a combination of words and letters in different cases e.g. MAxiMuS007.
Avoid using real words, and words that can be found in the dictionary and easily deciphered. Also avoid words like sunshine, rainy, and independence.
Do not use your name, kid’s names, car name, date of birth, or zodiac sign.
Never use a password twice, have different passwords for different accounts. (This is risky because most people tend to forget their passwords.) It is advisable to have a notebook or diary where the passwords will be written.
Do not keep your passwords where they can be easily accessed. E.g. behind a photo frame, under the computer’s keyboard, your email etc.
Here is SplashData’s list of worst passwords, if you find one of your passwords on the list; it would be prudent to promptly change it.

See the Gobe This N*dé Photo Is Causing Actress Biola Ige

After Uba Groups  Naija Gist published
photos of Nollywood actors, Muna Obiekwe
and Biola Ige in a r*unchy act few weeks
back, the clips went viral online. Muna
claimed he can't remember doing anything of
such with her but pictures don't lie. Biola
herself later arrived to express that it was a
movie and that folks shouldn't judge her by
what they see in the photos but wait until
the movie has gone out and they've watched
it.  The issue is: Why did Muna lie? Who
leaked the pix? Did someone asked for s3x
to cover this photo?
A lot of info has been gathered  from credible
sources in the movie industry concerning this
photo and it's negative at all in just about
any guise. The pix was from a video camera,
not just a photo camera. Meaning there was
not suppose to be a pix of the scene until it
is edited but somebody got this from the
video file all in a bid to attain a tough
agenda. I am hoping you know what After all
by "rough ".Well, if you don't, you are on your
own own. I can't say much.
For now, there is a lot of blame games and
all that going on but all fingers are pointing
in two directions...

Tiwa Savage Loses It At The Airport

It seems the dorodiva, Tiwa Savage is a no-
nonsense lady who does not take b.s from
anyone.
According to Punch , at the Murtala
Mohammed International Airport last
Monday, Saturday Beats watched how Tiwa
descended on a member of staff of the
Nigerian Aviation Handling Company who she
said was “rude” to her.
The Eminado crooner, looking chic in her
black and white ensemble, was seen arguing
and quarelling with the NAHCO staff and her
action drew a little crowd. The NAHCO lady
was unfazed by Tiwa’s fame and didn’t allow
her to intimidate her as she told the people
around that she wasn’t rude to Tiwa.
“I was not rude to her. I only told her to
go and board since she had checked in
her luggage. I wonder how that could
mean that I was rude to her,” Saturday
Beats overheard the NAHCO staff
saying.
Not giving the lady another look, Tiwa
eventually entered the boarding gate
alongside her colleagues.
She and some other Nigerian artistes,
Saturday Beats gathered, were on their way to
Mauritius on board an Emirate flight.
Y'all recall that it was reported few months
ago that the singer had an encounter with a
policeman whose beret she allegedly removed
from his head!

Nigerian Police deploy sniffer dogs to int’l airports

THE Inspector General of Police, Mohammed
Abubakar, has ordered immediate deployment
of sniffer dogs to all international airports in
the country.  The order came against the
back-drop of threats by criminal elements to
shift their nefarious activities to the nation’s
airports. A source gathered that the sniffer
dogs would be test run in certain functions,
preparatory to their deployments for the
2015 general elections, while their
deployments would further reduce possibility
of arms smuggling through the airports.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the
deployments which took place, yesterday, at
the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport,
Abuja, Abubakar explained that the sniffer
dogs would, among other things, be used for
detecting explosives, rescue operations,
perimeter patrols, patrol of car-parks and
apprehension of offenders resisting arrest or
attempting to evade it. While charging the
dog handlers to be vigilant, Abubakar, who
was represented by the DIG in charge of
operations, Zuokumor Michael, advised them
to respect the fundamental rights of the
citizens and also work in collaboration with
other security agencies to provide effective
security at the airports.
He called for the cooperation of the general
public, assuring them that his administration
would do everything necessary to provide
them with optimum security. Meanwhile, the
deployment in Abuja, which is the first phase
of the deployment of the sniffer dogs, was
simultaneously done at the Murtala
Muhammed International Airport Terminal I
and II, Lagos and Port-Harcourt International
Airport, Omagwa. Others are Mallam Aminu
Kano International Airport, Kano, Jos Airport
as well as Akanu Ibiam International Airport,
Enugu.

How to cook Nsala Soup (White Soup)

Nsala soup or White Soup is a tasty, fast and
easy soup recipe that has its origins in the
riverine areas of Nigeria.
Nsala Soup is perfect for a cold rainy day due
to its spicy taste. Because it is so easy to
prepare, you can count on it to save the day
when you run out on soup a few days before
the big soup day ;)
See Ingredents and Cooking Directions after
the cut
Ingredients
Cat Fish : 4 one-inch thick pieces
Fresh or dry Utazi Leaves (Gongronema
latifolium)
Thickener: Raw White Yam / Yam Powder /
Potato Puree
Habanero peppers: to taste
Salt (to taste)
Crayfish (a handful for 4 cuts of fish)
Seasoning – 1 stock cube ( Maggi / Knorr) and
Ogiri Okpei / Iru (Nigerian traditional
seasoning)
Alternative Ingredients for Nsala Soup
You can use Conger Eel (Congrio in Spanish)
instead of Cat fish . Buy the part towards the
tail because the pieces you'll get from there
are smaller and do not have large holes in
them.
When using yam powder as thickener, mix the
powder with hot water first to make a thick
smooth paste (as if you are making pounded
yam) before adding it to the soup. Adding the
powder directly into the soup will make the
soup mushy and you may end up with lumps.
In the absence of habanero pepper, you can
use dry chilli pepper.
Utazi leaves do not have any good alternative.
If you don't have it, no worries because it only
adds a slightly bitter flavour to the soup.
Before you cook Nsala Soup
Cut the catfish into 1 inch thick cylindrical
discs and remove the intestines. Place in bowl
and pour very hot water on the fish. This
process of pouring hot water on the fish
toughens the skin of the fish so that the
pieces do not disintegrate while cooking the
soup. Leave for about 2 minutes and wash the
fish with cold water. You should also wash off
any slimy substance on the outer skin of the
fish at this time.
Boil a few cubes of raw white yam. When soft,
pound with a mortar and pestle till a smooth
paste is formed, then set aside. You can
substitute white yam with yam powder or
potato puree for the thickening.
Wash and pound/blend the utazi leaves, the
chilli pepper and the crayfish and set aside.
Utazi is bitter in taste and only used for
flavouring so one or two leaves should be
enough especially when using the fresh leaves.
Cooking Directions
Place the catfish in a pot and pour enough
water to cover the fish. Add the seasoning and
cook till done. Feel free to add beef and dry
fish to this soup recipe.
When the catfish is almost done, add the
crayfish, pepper and utazi leaves blend. Also
add the yam paste in small lumps and salt to
taste.
Note: Catfish is what makes Nsala soup what
it is, giving it the unique taste that it has so
it is essential to this recipe. The only other
fish that I have found to be close to Cat fish
as regards to this recipe is Conger Eel.
Cover the pot and allow the contents to cook
at high heat till all the yam paste have
dissolved. While cooking, if you think that the
yam paste will make the soup too thick, you
can remove some that are yet to dissolve.
The Nigerian Nsala Soup is ready to be served
with Eba ( Garri ), Semolina, Amala, Pounded
Yam etc.
