Boko Haram reportedly takes over Michika town in Adamawa state

Heavily armed Boko Haram men have reportedly taken over Michika, one of the key towns in Adama state. According to Sahara Reporters, the sect men arrived the town today September 7th, chased out Nigerian troops and hoisted their flag in the town. This is coming three days after the militants seized Gulak town.

Residents in the town say the Nigerian military flew over the area but did not attack the sect men.

Soldiers from the 23 Brigade in Yola, Adamawa state, are said to have been mobilized to prevent the sect men from taking over Mubi, a key city which is some kilometers away from Michika.

In an interview with Sunday Express, music duo, Smash and Vast of Bracket, said money and women can't make them go their separate ways because according to them, they have grown past that.
"Money has not separated us, so women won't do that to us. We had a little issue about money in the past and we settled it. So when it comes to women or when Smash sees me with people who will not add value to my life, he warns me. And when I don't listen, he will let me be. Then when it all goes wrong, he will still be the person I come back to. I don't think women or money can be a problem between us at this stage"
The duo also revealed that in the next two to three years, they should be married
"Marriage is a must-do thing and we are not getting any younger. Within the next two-three years we should do that. We are still single but we are not getting any younger. We would love to get married"

schools to resume September 22nd' - FG warns

The Federal government has directed all
primary and secondary schools to resume on
Monday September 22nd. The resumption date
for schools had earlier been postponed to
October 13th as a precautionary measure to
contain the spread of the Ebola virus in

On Sunday I told you guys about the young
house help whose madam forced her to sit on
a burning electric cooker because she
allegedly wet the bed? (see that here). Well,
here's an update on the case.
The woman's name is Roseline Uzoamaka and
she has been arrested. She was arrested on
Sunday night by the police at Kubwa police
station who then transferred the case to the
Dutsen Alhaji Police Division of the Federal
Capital Territory Police Command, Abuja.
The girl is 14 years old according to sources
and her name is Sarah. She's currently
recuperating at the hospital. Quite a lot of
NGOs have gotten involved and one in
particular is planning to take Mrs Uzoamaka
to court for child brutality. Sarah is said to be
related to the woman's husband and was
brought to Abuja to help the family
domestically.

Judge of the state, Justice Ayotunde Philips
(left) who retired in July, was sworn in as the
new Chief Judge of Lagos state by Gov
Babatunde Fashola at the Adeyemi Bero
Auditorium, Lagos state Secretariat, Alausa,
Ikeja.
This is the first time in the history of the state
judiciary siblings will succeed each other as
Chief Judge of the state. Continue...

The immediate past Chief Judge and the
newly sworn-in Chief Judge are both
daughters of the late Justice James Williams,
who was a judge in Lagos State and the late
Mrs. Henrietta Williams. Until her recent
appointment, Hon Justice Atilade was a High
Court Judge.
Presenting the Chief Judge designate, for the
oath of office, the Attorney General and
Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ade Ipaye said
that the new Chief Judge was recommended
by the National Judicial Council and
appointed by the State Governor, Mr.
Babatunde Raji Fashola, and that her
appointment has been reviewed, found worthy
and confirmed by the Lagos State House of
Assembly.

the US Ambassador to Nigeria, His
Excellency, James F. Entwistle.
The US Ambassador congratulated the Ag.
IGP on his new appointment as the Police
Boss and thanked the Nigeria Police Force
for its high level of co-operation and huge
partnership with the US Embassy in Nigeria.
The Ambassador thereafter presented High
tech Bomb disposal robots/equipment to the
Nigeria Police Force. He also reassured the
Ag. IGP that his country will continue to
render relevant supports to the Force in the
areas of training and security cooperation.
The IGP, while responding, appreciated the
Ambassador’s courtesy visit and thanked the
US government for assisting the Nigeria Police
Force in areas of investigation, management of
scene of crime as well as position of
equipment.
Describing the Memorandum of Understanding
(MoU) executed by the Nigeria Police Force
and the US government recently as a huge
partnership that will improve and modernize
Police training in Nigeria, the IGP restated his
commitment to continue to drive reforms and
transformation of the Force in order to
reposition the Force for better service delivery
and promised that the newly donated
equipment would be put to effective use.

after she hired security to keep him away
from other women, sources exclusively told
Page Six.
Our sources tell us Carey and Cannon, the
host of “America’s Got Talent,” are
separating after six years of marriage. “He
hasn’t been staying at their home,” one
music insider tells Page Six. “He’s been
living out of hotels. They’re fighting a lot.”
Another source told us Carey has suspected
Cannon of cheating. And when the comic
hosted pool parties in Las Vegas earlier this
year, the diva dispatched a security guard to
keep watch over her husband.
“The security guard wasn’t there to keep the
girls away from him,” said our source. “It
was to keep him away from the girls.”
Carey also didn’t want Cannon drinking
while at the Vegas gigs because she felt he
“gets in trouble when he drinks,” the source
added.
