INTERVIEW WITH YOUNG AVIATION ENGINEER 

Back in nigeria 2008 matthew had a dream that he can create and manufacturing plane 

here interview sense with most nigerian talented airomantic engineer

1,,How did you get involved in making airoplane

ANS] It's GOD works and talent..when i had a dream about the air craft. i was in ANAMBRA STATE struggling to make a living

as student in onistha anambra state and GOD idea resonated with me as i saw myself making the plane in my dream all 

around the world way back then.i loved the organic-looking 

2,,was it difficult getting information? what were your main sources?

ANS]I can't remember now because then i went to God in prayer where should i start from and he showed me and i dragged

all the working tools from God collections....i got my information and source from GOD almigth and i must say no 

difficult in it...

3,,was the transition between wanting to make a plane and actully making one a difficult choice? did you procrastinate

ANS] i just have to go.i suppose i began at the beginning with laminated jet figther which is very hard but i do not 

relent but i worked my way towards the kit and then graduated from fabriction

4,,DID YOU HAVE A MENTOR, OR SOMEONE WHO YOU LOOKED UP TO FOR INSPIRATION AND DIRECTION

ANS]Not really i admire the work of the modern makers and i have to go in it alone

5,,WHAT STYLES ARE PARTIAL TO DESIGN WISE?

ANS] My goal is to develop a style a brand that's distinctively Good airoplane

6,,what materials do you use for making your plane

ANS]aluminium,fabre,iron pan,local ligth e.t.c

7,,is it difficult or costly to get materials

ANS]Steel and aluminium are easy to get but expensive.but i have to go on and purchase them offcouse you know nothing

is free even in freetown...

8,,DO YOU USE MACHINES TO CUT THE MATERIALS OR DO YOU DO THEM BY HANDS

ANS]I started doing it entirely by hand...i know the professionals use machines,but i don't have i either stick paper

pattern onto the metal and cut up to the line

9,, what other tools and equipment do you use for making planes?

ANS] flying broad for the compass and aluminium,fabre,iron pan,local ligths, welting machine, weving gum,and for local 

tooks E.T.C

10,,WHAT BLADES DO YOU USE FOR YOUR PLANES. DO YOU MAKE THEM YOURSELF OR USE AFTERMARKET BLADES

ANS]I buy in blades making and hardening blades is something i don't have any ambition to do also there are a number of 

really go aftermarket options including hock and lie-nielson [my favorite] 

11,,HOW MANY PLANES HAVE YOU MADE? AND WHAT KINDS OF PLANES WERE THEY?

ANS] in total i have made 3 planes and a car you can see them in above picture, namely==aeroplane. jet figther .

and copter 

12,,DO YOU SEE YOURSELF POSSIBLY BECOMING A SPECIALIZED OR LIMITED EDITION PLANE ENGINEER EVENTUALLY? BY THIS I MEAN

SELLING HAND MADE PLANES TO COLLECTOR AND USERS

ANS]Yes i do.but with reservations. there's point trying to complete with the manufacturers.and in any case the better 

commercial planes are very good.  there is an emerging international market for collector grade bespoke planes

and that's where people like holtey saur and wayne anderson. if i do go on to offer planes for sale that's where i will

13,,CAN A COMPANY OR INDIVIDUAL EMPLOY YOU?

ANS] yes of couse...Am open and avilable for any job opening

14,WHERE HAVE THIS PLANE MAKING TALENT OF YOURS TAKING YOU TO?

1st Photos of Lisa Folawiyo’s Spring/Summer 2015 Collection Showcase in New York

Today, Saturday 6th September 2014 Nigerian Designer Lisa Folawiyo of the eponymous womenswear label Lisa Folawiyo (formerly Jewel by Lisa) showcased her Spring/Summer 2015 collection in New York, and we are very excited to share the 1st photos with you.

Lisa and her team showcased the collection for press and buyers at the Laudrée in the big apple and from the 1st photos we can already tell the collection was one to behold.

The pieces were made from the brand’s signature silk ankara, organza and lot of fringe detailing, fabric inserts and layers. We love the twist on each piece transforming what starts off as simple/basic silhouettes, transforming into more complex designs. We can tell that detailing was key for this collection.
