SPAR
Nigeria says it has entertained children and teens across its 12 stores
nationwide with its annual ‘Fun Day Fiesta’.
The
event, celebrated in commemoration of the Children’s Day, was held on May 29,
the retailer noted in a statement.
The
statement read in part, “All the locations were agog with fanfare as the young
ones were treated to fun activities such as games, freebies, mascots, bouncing
castles, face paints and other exciting activities.
“SPAR,
Ilupeju, particularly welcomed the 41st Miss Nigeria, Peace Ehiguese; and
fast-rising actor, Yomi Gold. Both played host to children, parents and fans;
engaging them in recreational activities such as the ‘Balance beam’, ‘Pin the
tail on the donkey’, ‘Identify parent’, ‘Hot potato/Pass the parcel’, ‘Musical
chairs’, ‘Snatch, Simon says’, and many other games.”
It
quoted the General Manager, SPAR Nigeria, John Goldsmith, as saying that the
event had become a tradition for the firm.
He
said, “Being a family-oriented hypermarket, we are keen on always celebrating
Children’s Day because it gives us the privilege to appreciate and excite
children.
“We
are always happy to go the extra mile in making the day special and memorable
because today’s children are tomorrow’s leaders and evidently, tomorrow’s
shoppers.”
